- Stable, reliable market with good growth prospects. Other countries e.g. Eastern Europe are open to more legal risks than Germany e.g. ownership disputes
- Low interest rates in comparison to the UK at between 4 & 5%
- If you buy a property in Germany, it can easily be rented out reliably and long term.
- Property prices have not moved in ten years making the properties very price worthy.
- There has been more activity in the purchase of commercial property recently e.g. Goldmann Sachs have just invested $4.6 billion in German Commercial Property.
- REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts ) has been introduced. A benefit of REITs is that they are not taxed at the corporate level, therefore avoiding double taxation for investors.
- Percentage of home owners currently low, giving good possibility of renting the property.
- Property investment in England involves high property prices and high interest rates on mortgages.
